FLEX Vienna: New Sound, New Energy — A club icon revitalised

FLEX isn’t just a club — it’s a key foundation of Vienna’s nightlife. So when it came time for a full-scale sound and acoustics upgrade in 2022, it wasn’t just an installation — it was a transformation.

A complete overhaul with Alcons Audio QR24s and QM24s, driven by Alcons Sentinel amplification. Precision-focused sound that now delivers both club energy and live sonic details.

Mainfloor stage
We improved the bass control on and around the stage. We addressed the long standing bass issues with the BC543 subwoofers in a cardioid configuration.

Café
A sound system centered around Alcons LR18 line arrays and Lambda DW-15s,delivering clarity and warmth for live shows and club nights alike.

Acoustics
Throughout the whole location we added FRPA wideband absorbers to massively enhance the overall acoustics and bass absorption of the location.

In 2025 we, together with the social media agency Wienerbarperlen, revisited FLEX to give others a behind-the-scenes tour of the Viennese nightclub scene — bridging tech and culture, audio and stories. The collaboration brought our work to new audiences while also giving visibility to FLEX itself. The video itself gave a snapshot into what makes a top-tier club system happen — from equipment to set-up configuration — and highlighted the upgrades carried out in 2022.
